I have been leading fly fishing guide trips in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado since 1994 on the Frying Pan River, Roaring Fork River, Colorado River, & Crystal River. I do both wade trips and float trips. Float trips are limited to the Roaring Fork River and Colorado River. The Frying Pan river and Crystal River are too small for drift boats or fishing rafts.
I am available during summer months, usually June through September, for flyfishing guide trips either wading or float trips. I can be available for trips at other times of the year but require advance notice.
I normally recommend a float trip for most anglers, novice or experienced, as long as the rivers are fishable. I feel it is the best way to access miles of river as opposed to a few 'spots'. If the lower Roaring Fork is muddy (or 'blown out') I will let you know and we can usually fish above Carbondale on a wade trip.
Float trips offer a wide variety of fishing conditions and options, plus it becomes a team effort. Each angler will learn from the other's mistakes and successes.
I book all my trips through Roaring Fork Anglers in Glenwood Springs and Alpine Angling in Carbondale. This gives me the ability to use their access permits to the local waters and the abilility to book the BarZX and other private water in the area.
